Community Guidelines

The short version

Be kind. Be honest. Look out for each other. LatePals is somewhere people should be able to hang out late at night without being harassed, scammed or frightened. The rules below apply to posts, comments, messages, profiles, groups, pages, reels and the marketplace.

1. Respect other people

• No harassment, bullying, threats or stalking, including "as a joke".
• No hate speech that attacks people for their ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or similar characteristics.
• Disagreeing is fine. Personal attacks aren't.

2. Keep it safe

• No threats of violence, and no encouraging anyone to harm others or themselves.
• No sexual content involving minors, ever. It will be removed and reported to the police.
• No nudity or pornography. LatePals is for everyone aged 13 and over.
• No graphic violence or shock content.
• If someone says they're in a very bad place or thinking about hurting themselves, be kind, encourage them to get help (in Denmark: Livslinien 70 201 201, emergencies: 112) and let us know.

3. Be real

• Don't pretend to be another person, brand or organisation.
• No fake accounts, no spam and no automated mass posting.
• Don't knowingly share false information that could hurt people, for example about health or emergencies.

4. Respect privacy

• Don't share other people's private information (address, phone number, ID numbers, private messages) without their permission.
• Don't share photos or videos of other people in private situations without their consent.
• Only share content you have the right to share, and respect copyright.

5. The marketplace

• Only sell legal items that you own and have the right to sell.
• Not allowed: weapons, drugs, prescription medicines, alcohol and tobacco, counterfeit or copied branded goods, stolen goods, live animals, products from endangered species, and anything that needs a licence to sell.
• Describe items honestly and use real photos. See our guide to buying and selling safely.

6. No scams

No phishing links, fake payments, pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick offers or attempts to get money, login codes or card details from other people. This leads to an immediate ban.

7. Also never allowed

• Sexual services for payment (prostitution, escorting, "sugar dating" and similar), and paid marriage brokering with foreigners.
• Content that supports or glorifies terrorism, violent extremists or criminal organisations.
• Animal cruelty, and selling products from endangered species (for example ivory, shark fin or tiger skin).
• Hacking or cracking tools, or guides to breaking into accounts, devices or systems.
• Forged documents, exam papers or cheating services, and products for beating drug tests.
• Spyware or gear for secretly monitoring another person.
• Harmful health claims that go against scientific consensus (for example discouraging vaccination), and knowingly false information about elections and voting.
• Manipulated images or video (such as deepfakes) that mislead about politics or social issues.
• Pretending to be LatePals, Google, or any other company or authority.

What happens when the rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, give a warning, temporarily suspend an account or close it permanently. Serious violations, such as scams, threats or child sexual abuse material, lead to immediate closure and may be reported to the police.

How to report something

Tap Report on any post, comment, listing or profile. The report comes straight to us, and the person won't know who reported them. You can also mute someone from their profile straight away, or email kevinbuhl98@gmail.com with a link to the post or profile and a short description. We read every report. See also our contact page.
