LateFarm — a guide to crops, animals, the mine and the best crop
By Kevin Buhl Jakobsen, who made the game · The numbers come straight from the game's rules · Updated 7. Nov 2026

Getting started
LateFarm is a farm you look after at your own pace. You start with a field of 14×14 tiles and 500 coins. Your farmer walks around and does the work: you tap a tile, and he walks over to plough, sow, water or harvest it. Ploughing a tile costs 10 coins, and then you can sow.
The first crops are quick: moon potatoes are ready in 5 minutes and strawberries in 15. As you level up, you unlock slower crops that pay more. The idea is that you can plant something slow before bed and harvest it when you wake up. Every rule is decided on the server against the server's clock, so the farm grows while the game is closed, and nobody can cheat their way to coins.
The farmer's energy
Work costs energy, both in the fields and in the mine. The farmer starts with 60 energy, plus 10 for each farmhouse level and 5 for each pickaxe level. Energy comes back on its own at one point a minute, and four times as fast when the farmer is asleep in his bed. A cup of coffee gives 40 energy straight away, and you start with 10 cups.
Faster and worth more
- Watering makes a crop grow in 80% of the time, and fertilizer in 70%. Both together: 56%. A bag of fertilizer with 10 doses costs 40 coins, and the animals give manure when you collect from them.
- Greenhouses (from level 8) make crops grow in 90% of the time, and grow lights speed them up further. Nothing wilts under glass, and some crops (tea, cocoa, lotus, dragon fruit and vanilla) only grow there.
- Wilting: a ripe crop wilts if it is left too long: after twice its growing time, but at least four hours. Then you get nothing for it.
- Night bonus: harvest between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. (Danish time) and you get 25% more coins. LatePals is for night owls, after all.
- The farmhouse can be built up in five levels, and each level above the first adds 3% to everything you harvest. Silos add 2% each, up to 10 silos.
The best crop for you
The crop that pays most depends on how often you look in. A fast crop pays most if you harvest it the moment it is ready, but nothing while it waits for you. The table shows the crop (without greenhouse, watering or bonuses) that earns the most coins per hour if you harvest and replant at every visit, and that won't wilt before you are back.

Trees and animals
Trees and animals are bought once and pay again and again. A tree can be harvested every time its timer runs out; animals give eggs, milk, wool and more. Now and then an animal slips out through the fence, and the farmer has to fetch it home before you can collect from it again.

The mine, the workshop and the tractor
From level 3 you can dig into the mine under your farm. It is 12 blocks wide and as deep as you dare. The deeper you go, the harder the layers and the better the pickaxe you need. In return you find coal, copper, iron, silver, gold, gems and rare finds like fossils. What is in each block is decided on the server, and the browser is only told what lies right next to your tunnels, so nobody can see where the diamonds are.
Your finds can be sold at the market or used in the workshop for decorations like a campfire, a farm bell, a crystal ball, a golden trophy and a dino skeleton, and for silos and greenhouses. At the vehicle dealer (from level 6) you can buy a tractor with a plough, seed drill, sprayer and harvester. With the tractor, field work costs a litre of diesel instead of the farmer's energy.
Grow your farm
The field can grow from 14×14 up to 64×64 tiles, and the mountains around the valley move back when it does. Later you can buy whole new farms, each with its own landscape:
- Home Farm — your first farm
- Moonlit Meadow — from level 12, 250,000 coins
- River Valley — from level 25, 1,500,000 coins
- Starfall Orchard — from level 40, 6,000,000 coins
- Aurora Highlands — from level 60, 25,000,000 coins
The farm syncs between phone and computer, and you can see it from above, in 3D and in first person. You can also help your friends' farms.
